15. Can I take my nebulized medications with my PMV in place?

The PMV should be removed prior to delivery of medicated nebulizer treatments. If the PMV is inadvertently used during a medicated nebulizer treatment, it should be removed immediately and washed according to manufacturer recommendations in order to remove medication residue, as some medications may adversely affect the function of the PMV diaphragm.
