From Acute Care to Home Health
Course Description:
This podcast was a conversation with two SLPs, one who worked in acute care and another who has worked both acute care and home health. During the chat, we discuss considerations for best practice in acute care, including team building, and provide strategies for improving communication in the home health setting.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- 1) State two considerations for building a team in acute care.
- 2) List two ways of improving communication in home health.
Agenda:
- 5 minutes – introduction of the speaker and topic
- 10 minutes – discussion of acute care, team building, and best practices for improved care
- 10 minutes – discussion the home health setting, considerations for differences from an acute care setting, and how to improve communication with respiratory therapy
- 5 minutes – summary of the key points, including the role of SLPs
