Trach Tube Selection and Valve Use

Course Description:
This podcast was a conversation with a speech-language pathologist and a physician’s assistance who specializes in critical care. We discussed considerations in trach tube selection for patients – how is size determined and why does it matter. This podcast also covered fenestrated vs non-fenestrated trach tubes and why early intervention in the ICU is a key consideration in patient recovery. When and how to introduce speaking valves and swallowing assessments also were discussed. After completing this course, you will be able to:
